What is "The Box"?
"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." Walt Disney
Beyond the Box is a flexible working, meeting and eating space in central Coventry. We have several meeting rooms and co-working spaces over three floors of the Reform Club on Warwick Row in Coventry. We're only 5 minutes walk from Coventry railway station from where you can be in London within the hour and Birmingham within 20 minutes. Find out here about our meeting rooms and spaces.
As a one-off visitor you can buy a day pass for £3/£5 while our regular users benefit from our membership scheme. Prices start at £15.00 per month for a half-session membership in the Thomas Edison Room rising to £50 per month for full-session membership in the Alan Turing Room. Some members stay for just an hour or two, some hold regular meetings and events and some come for our coffees and lunches while they work and share our space with other independent workers.
You may be a student needing a quiet space to think or to collaborate in a group, or an entrepreneur needing a space to work on your start-up or to network, or parents and carers wanting a meeting room, or a local company needing an affordable training venue. All are welcome. We support you with refreshments from our cafe or supplies from our on-site stationery shop and office facilities such as photocopying. Some even play snooker, table football, backgammon, chess or Trivial Pursuit.
We run regular courses and events including our Friday night acoustic suppers, Saturday fairs and Thursday morning's Jelly. We host Little Pickles Baby Massage, training with Adada Ltd., the charity Sahara (Coventry) Ltd and the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
What is a Jelly? A Jelly is an informal get-together of those who choose to work in non-traditional locations, e.g. in their own homes or studios or, literally, out of brief cases in the backs of their cars. It gives an opportunity for these people to meet up with one another, share some ideas, hear from a guest speaker but also to get some work done or pick up some business that might not otherwise come their way. Lady Godiva Jelly takes place in the Alan Turing Room at Beyond the Box from 9.00-1.00pm every Thursday morning. You can park in the Sky Dome Car Park and walk to The Box, about seven minutes away. To park up at 8.45am and leave at 2.15pm, having stayed for lunch will cost you £4.20. Lunch is £4.95 for homemade soup and a sandwich. Tickets here.
